Ittibitz

Tonight I played Wallyball.

Following all of the physical manly exercise I had worked up quite the appetite for a dessert. I went to Wal-mart and searched the frozen dessert aisle looking for something to quench my sweet cravings.

I found the most awesome thing ever. A dippin dots knock off called "ittibitz."

Cost= $1
Goodness= a lot

IHOP

Every trip to Ihop is an adventure. When unlimited stacks of pancakes and over priced orange juice get involved, you never know what's going to happen.

This recent trip however, proved to be interesting in a different way. Despite this being a food blog, I must skip over the eating portion of my trip (although the food was delicious).

My total meal came to $5.54. Which, for 5 pancakes, eggs and hashbrowns was mostly reasonable. The real fun came when I went to the register to pay for my meal.

It has come to my attention recently, that my math skills are declining. And numerous events have displayed this unfortunate fact to me.

I paid for my meal with my debit card, and as I wrote down what I thought was a reasonable tip. I tried to leave $7 on my meal of $5.54 (which is over 20%.. I try to tip generously).

The only problem was that I wrote down a tip of $1.06 thinking that would equal $7.

I'll give you a moment to let that all sink in. Apparently I was under the impression that there are 60 cents in an hour. and 100 minutes in a dollar. or something like that.

Now, I don't know if you have ever gotten time and money mixed up before, I guess I just took the phrase "time is money" a little bit too literally this time.

Walking Tacos

Have you ever heard of a Walking Taco? Neither had I until I discovered them in Virginia Beach.

Basically, what you do is take a small bag of Doritos:
Slice off the top.

Take some taco meat and cheese:

And put it into the Dorito bag, grab a fork, and go!

Yes that's right.

Try it.

Walking Tacos.

Eating Fresh

Have you ever been sitting, watching TV when a food commercial comes on? Instantly feelings of intense passion and hunger hit you, almost like a slap in the face.

I was watching King of Queens today when a commercial came on. Chunks of savory beef, vegetables flying.. it was a sight to behold. The visual images instantly awoke a sleeping hunger that lay dormant. As I watched the dog eat his meal in the commercial, I decided that I wanted something equally as satisfying.

My friends and I then drove as quickly (but safely) as possible to the nearest Subway. 12 inches of submarine sandwich goodness later, I flopped down on our couch and began the digestive process.

Success.

Pez It

Which one would you use? And would the Pez's taste depend on which one you did choose? Hmmmm...

Pop Tarts

I ate Pop Tarts for lunch. I had no chance to eat lunch in between all of my many classes.. thankfully, I had carefully nestled two S'more Pop Tarts in the front pouch on my book bag.
2 minutes and a few crumbs on my jacketses later, my delicious meal was gone, leaving me daydreaming about food in my next class.

Off-Brand Foods, Exhibit #1 - "Nutty Nuggets"

I have always loved the off-brand products that supermarkets come up with. I will be posting ones I find as part of a mini-series for this blog.

The first submission I have is a Grape Nuts alternative. They taste just as good as the original, and I think I may even like this name better than the Grape Nuts brand name, although "Grape Nuts" is hard to beat.

Chicken & Dumplings

Today for dinner I had a nice gourmet meal. Chicken and Dumplings.

Since you are probably wondering how to make such a delicious meal for yourself, I will tell you how to do it.

Step 1. Open up one can of Dinty Moore: Chicken & Dumplings.
Step 2. Place contents into pan.
Step 3. Set Burner to way high.
Step 4. Stir once you see stuff start to bubble.
Step 5. Empty contents of pan into personal bowl
Step 6. Take bite and burn tongue.
Step 7. Stare at bowl
Step 8. Repeat Step 6.
Step 9. Crumble Ritz Crackers into bowl (serves as a cooling agent for the stew)
Step 10. Finish really quickly and then blog about it.

3 Crunchy Beef Burritos

Today was a rough day for me. As a college student, meals are sometimes sacrificed for the greater good of higher education. I was fortunate enough to have 4 classes in a row today. Given my schedule, I was not able to eat anything since breakfast. I went from 10 AM to 6 PM without a single meal. I'm not asking for a reward or to be called a hero.. I'll just leave that decision to you.

In order to satisfy my hunger, I naturally went to Taco Bell for dinner. After all, I have a $20 gift card to Taco Bell, which should last me until the end of the semester.
I purchased 3 Crunchy Beef Burritos, for $3.30. And I ate them all.

It's okay that I ate that much, cause I have a good metabolism.

Today I had a sandwich.

Hi Guys,

Today was a 2 meal day. The only interesting thing I ate was a couple of sandwiches. They were made from rather normal wheat bread, with ham & turkey, American Cheese, and no condiments. The Double Stuf Oreos I had for dessert were my favorite food part of the day.

Happy eating,
Joel
